Which ports do I need to open up for mailserver ?

I am working on a KVM based virtualized environment.  All my virtual machines are sitting behind a virtual firewall appliance.

Here comes the challenge. I need to identify and open up required ports for each individual appliance.
What are the ports a mailserver would need?

Here is the list of ports you need to open up in oder to get your mail server working  properly.

POP3 – port 110
IMAP – port 143
SMTP – port 25
Secure SMTP (SSMTP) – port 465
Secure IMAP (IMAP4-SSL) – port 585
IMAP4 over SSL (IMAPS) – port 993
Secure POP3 (SSL-POP) – port 995
